Pooky x Collaborative Craft Projects

A delightful duo, Pooky has teamed up with Collaborative Craft Projects to produce a selection of beautifully organic, all natural pendants – launching 26th June. An authentic and meaningful partnership, each pendant has been handwoven by artisan craftswomen in Zimbabwe using Ilala palm, which is sustainably grown and harvested locally. The 4-piece collection brings elements of the natural world into interiors in both shape and material. Each design takes inspiration from beautifully handcrafted baskets created by the women involved with CCP and is transformed into a striking shade design. The natural weave of the pendants transmit light wonderfully throughout a room when on, but each pendant also dangles delicately as a piece of art in its own right when not in use.

Speaking on the collaboration, Pooky head of design, Jo Plant, comments:

“We were introduced to Jane at Collaborative Craft and were instantly taken by her passion and commitment to build a legacy for the female artisans she works with, whilst preserving the traditional skills and natural heritage of Zimbabwean culture and craft.

Jane and the amazing women she works with had already developed a new range of Wonky Wave baskets and we fell in love and asked if they would develop them as a pendant shade exclusively for Pooky. The Serena baskets were a completely new shape that we developed with Jane, which we’re launching in three slightly different styles. We chose to use the pared-back, simple shape as we wanted to create something that could fit successfully and look amazing in even the most clean and modern of interiors as perfectly as in more traditional, country aesthetics.”
